Creosote buildup in wood stoves
Why it happens here
Many Johnsonville West households burn wood daily through winter, and hot burns followed by long idle periods create glazed creosote. Stainless liners in newer townhouses can hide the buildup until it is severe.
Our approach
We use a Sooteater and a soft brush matched to the liner, remove the glaze in stages, and check the stovepipe and baffle at the same time. We then recommend a sweep frequency based on how much wood you actually burn.
